The People’s Own Savings Bank, or POSB, is a registered financial institution which began operations in 1904, initially as the Post Office Savings Bank later becoming the People’s Own Savings Bank in 1999. The POSB was unbundled from other entities that made up the Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (PTC) from 2001 when commercialisation began. The unbundling exercise created Net-One, Tel-One, Zimpost and POSB as separate businesses.
POSB remained a wholly government owned financial institution with 32 branches and hundreds of agencies distributed at Zimpost outlets located throughout the country. The institution has flighted an advert seeking to hire an unspecified number tellers for job positions in eight different towns and cities. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions which have arisen within the People’s Own Savings Bank.
Bank Tellers
(Harare, Bindura, Karoi, Chinhoyi, Kadoma, Beitbridge, Zvishavane, Gwanda)
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor the incumbent will be responsible for processing front- line transactions and performing back-office duties.
Key Activities
Digital banking customer advisory services.
• Cash advances and remittances.
Processing withdrawals and deposits.
Processing currency exchange transactions.
Cross selling bank products. Performing back-office duties.
Agent services.
Risk management.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Business degree or equivalent.
IOBZ qualification is an added advantage. One year experience in financial services environment.
• Customer service orientation and selling skills.
Computer proficiency.
